A comprehensive short story workshop with writer Heba Khamis
Our first stories often hold a special place in our hearts as they reveal a lot about who we are. They might capture a fleeting moment that has shaped us to this day. While we may forget many of our stories, the first ones remain etched in our memories.
The workshop explores the concepts of narrative writing, including its tools, how to develop them and how to use these tools to write a comprehensive short story. The workshop also provides an opportunity for sharing the texts we write during the sessions.
Workshop days:
Thursday 5th – Friday 6th of October
Thursday 12th – Friday 13th of October

About the Workshop Trainer:
Heba Khamis is an acclaimed Egyptian writer, known for her collection of short stories titled “Zar,” which won the Egyptian Sawiris Cultural Award. She is also the recipient of the Central Prize of Palaces of Culture for her collection “From a Window Overlooking the Square.” In 2021, her novel “The American Residences” was published by Dar El Shorouk. Heba Khamis is also an accomplished journalist on the Masrawy website and has conducted numerous creative workshops at Diwan Library in Cairo.
Workshop fees: 300 EGP
Enrollment process:
– Please fill out the form below (filling out the form does not guarantee enrollment).
– The center’s administration will review the forms and compile a list of accepted participants.
– Successful applicants will be contacted via email, so please ensure that you provide accurate contact information.
– After receiving a confirmation email of acceptance, workshop fees are to be paid within a maximum of 4 days from the day of receiving the acceptance email.
-The fees can be paid at the reception desk, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekdays.
Please note that the reception is closed on Sundays.
