“Anna” (Nicole Kidman) is a widow trying to recover from the shock of losing her husband years ago. She falls in love, but on the day of her engagement announcement, the doorbell rings, only for her to find a ten-year-old boy claiming to be her deceased husband and that he has returned for the purpose of asking her not to marry anyone else. Because of the absurdity of what the boy is telling her, especially since he knows accurate information about the life of her late husband and about details of his relationship with her, Anna’s life is disturbed and she enters into a spiral of confusion, bordering on madness. Her relationship with her fiancé is affected as she begins to reconsider many of her decisions.
