AAA is a newly formed trio consisting of Egyptian oud and violinist players, respectively Aly Issa and Ayman Asfour, and Lebanese drummer Akram Hajj. The trio embarks on a musical phenomenon that fuses the soulful oriental melodies of the oud and violin with the polyrhythmic beats of the drums, all interconnected through a web of innovative effect pedals, which gives it an avant-garde approach with an electronic twist. This ensemble creates a transcendent sonic journey that defies conventional genres and invites listeners into an ethereal realm of sound and emotion. With each member hailing from diverse musical backgrounds, AAA brings a wealth of experiences and influences to the stage. The oud carries the weight of centuries of musical history and tradition. The violin, a versatile and emotive instrument, adds a touch of classical elegance to the mix. And the drummer, a rhythmic wizard, infuses the compositions with dynamic grooves that keep audiences entranced. What sets AAA apart is their masterful use of effect pedals. The oud and violin are amplified and distorted by these electronic devices, which are more than just tools; they’re instruments in their own right, allowing the band to create layers of sound, manipulate textures, and transport listeners to otherworldly dimensions. It’s a sonic alchemy that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in live music. Their music is an improvisational journey, a conversation among instruments, pedals, and musicians. Each performance is a unique and mesmerizing experience, drawing inspiration from world music, jazz, experimental, and electronic genres. AAA has an uncanny ability to create both meditative, introspective moments and explosive, euphoric crescendos within the same piece. As a band, AAA is more than just performers; they are storytellers, weaving intricate narratives through their music. Their compositions transcend language, speaking directly to the heart and soul of the listener.
