Waves and Rain:
A group of dancers will present a dance piece titled “Chaotic Harmony” aiming to showcase the physical aspect of chaos theory. The piece will explore the impact of chaos on our routines, daily lives, experiences, cultures, and humanity through individual and group movements. This collaborative performance includes dancers from Alexandria, who face the challenge of creating the dance piece within a two-week timeframe. Chaotic Harmony’s choreography will be characterized by fluidity, spontaneity, and improvisation, reflecting the essence of chaos theory. The dancers will delve into the interplay between order and disorder, seamlessly transitioning between structured movements and moments of unpredictability. The choreographic language will incorporate elements of chance, allowing the dancers to intuitively respond to the ever changing dynamics of the performance space.
Six Values:
“Six Values” is a dance piece inspired by Italo Calvino’s book, “Six Memos for the Next
Millennium,” and aims to embody the themes and ideas presented in Calvino’s work,
including lightness, quickness, and multiplicity. The performance ingeniously intertwines
the beauty of language with the captivating power of physicality, resulting in a
mesmerizing experience for the audience. Through the harmonious choreography of the
three dancers, Calvino’s words will be vividly brought to life, encouraging viewers to
contemplate the profound connections between literature, art, and the human
experience.
