Mahaba “Love” is a musical presentation featuring Sufi and spiritual chants belonging to various spiritual paths and traditions, some of which originate from regional or global heritage with new compositions and formulations, while others are old texts set to new melodies or perhaps composed for the first time. Texts in different languages and affiliations are unified in their content: the adoration of divine self. Ibn Arabi, Al-Hallaj, Hafez Shirazi, Rumi, St. Francis of Assisi, Abdel Salam Al-Asmar, and others. This performance is an invitation or a reminder of the meanings of coexistence, openness, and peace among humans, regardless of their differences… for the content is one: God is Love.
