6th Season “Iskandrona”
• This year’s Iskandrona is entitled “The Heritage of Alexandria Stations and Transportation.”
• This season comes in cooperation with the Jesuit Cultural Centre in Alexandria. The Iskandrona Exhibition is an art exhibition that mimics different heritage and cultural themes from Alexandria.
• Iskandrona began in 2016 and is one of the most important annual projects of the Raquda Foundation for Art and Heritage. Alexandria City has been known for its stations and transportation lines for hundreds of years.

• You can learn about the city from its streets and buildings, as well as its stations and transportation, some of which started in Alexandria and then moved to Cairo like a tram. As there are lines that still distinguish heritage, this year’s Iskandrona would be aimed at communicating the artist’s vision of
Alexandria transportation routes and patterns, which include:
1- Transportation: Karta/ Al Hantour/ Taxi / Yellow tram/ Mashroo`/ Ramel tram/ Microbus Public Bus/ Inner Train (Abo-Qir Train)
2- Stations: Ramel tram stations (such as: Isis Station, Bacos Station, Abrahimia Station, University Station, El-Ramel Station, etc.)
– Yellow tram stations with their lines (city tram lines): (such as: Karmouz, Saint-Catherine Station, Ras El Tin, Muharram Bek)
– Inland Lines (e.g., Sidi Gaber Station, Bab Akhdar Station, Misr Station, etc.)
– Public bus stations (such as Camp Chizar Station, Bab Akhdar Station, etc.)
– Hantour (such as Saad Zaghloul Square)
-The Iskandrona Exhibition targets all artists from various governorates of Egypt to document and display Alexandria in artistic form. The works presented vary between photography, wall photography, porcelain, sculpture, architectural documentation, visual art, graphic art, and collage.
The work will review the tangible heritage (such as station buildings) and intangible heritage (such as the habits of residents and drivers) associated with roads and transport lines in Alexandria.
