With the renowned cinematic scenic designer, Mr. Ansi Abou Seif

The great artist, Mr. Ansi Abou Seif, is one of the most prominent set designers and scenic artists in the history of Egyptian cinema and among the most influential of his contemporaries. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1967, beginning his artistic career as an assistant set designer in The Mummy (Al-Momia), directed by the late Shadi Abdel Salam.

Director Dawoud Abdel Sayed even described him as “the artist of Egyptian cinema” in a dedication at the beginning of El-Kit Kat, a film whose visual world was greatly enhanced by Mr. Ansi Abou Seif’s designs, bringing its details to life and reinforcing the credibility of its characters and their dramatic motivations.
