Jesuit Cultural Center – Alexandria invites you to a special Japanese cultural day, organized by The Japan Foundation, Cairo and proudly hosted by Jesuit Cultural Center – Alexandria.

Let’s take a look at some of the exciting cultural activities that will take place on this day:

 

 Traditional Japanese Clothing “Yukata“
Who wouldn’t want to try on a traditional Japanese clothing? During our cultural day, girls, boys, and even children will have the opportunity to try on a yukata and pose for pictures in it next to the traditional decorations that will be a delightful surprise. 
 Kindly understand that wearing Yukata may take some time depending on the number of visitors.

 

 Japanese Calligraphy “Shodo“
There will also be a special corner for those who want to know how their names are written in Japanese.

 

 Origami
Both children and adults like to play with paper and make shapes. So, an Origami workshop will be held in which we will learn some Japanese origami shapes and create them ourselves.

 

 Book Fair
In this corner, we will gift you various books in different languages as well as novels and manga.
 Note: The books will be distributed randomly.

 

 Presentation about Sado “Tea Ceremony” at 6:00 PM
The Japanese tea ceremony will take you on a journey to Japan and bring a sense of harmony and tranquility to your soul.

 

 “Suzume” film screening at 9:00 PM
A modern action-adventure road story where a 17-year-old girl named Suzume helps a mysterious young man close doors from the other side that are releasing disasters all over in Japan.
