About Event:

EIN L AQL biography: EIN L AQL is a collaborative experimental electronic music project from Alexandria, Egypt, consisting of Bassem Diaa (oud, electronics) and Amro Zidan (electronics, sound engineer). Delving into the human psyche, our music emerges from deep spiritual and psychological explorations, weaving improvisation and experimentation into conceptual, psychedelic soundscapes unbound by genre limitations. We have released two albums, El A’sara and Albaydah wal Hajar, along with two singles, and have performed more than 30 concerts in the past two years. Our journey extends beyond live performances, including collaborations with national and international artists, artist residencies, and composing a music score for films. Additionally, we initiated Psychedelic Nights, an ongoing project dedicated to immersive sonic experiences that expand consciousness and challenge musical conventions. Each project is a unique exploration, an invitation into the mysteries of the inner world.

Hamdy Wahba biography: A Multidisciplinary Filmmaker and Visual Artist From the streets of Alexandria emerges a narrative journey where films and visual art delve into identity, human connection, and spiritual exploration. Hamdy Wahba crafts projects that blend sound with image, spanning reflective cinema and live VJ performances that invite contemplation. His work has been screened at international festivals—including Academy Award-qualifying events—earning awards and recognition. He has also served as a jury member at Festival de cinéma Les Bobines Alexandrines. Dedicated to experimenting with visual storytelling techniques, he stays engaged with Egypt’s independent film scene while pursuing international collaborations that explore narratives beyond conventional borders.

An Experimental Night in Jesuit’s Garage On March 14th, EIN L AQL (Bassem Diaa & Amro Zidan) will present a live, improvised performance at the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria, in collaboration with visual artist Hamdy Wahba. This concert is the 3rd of the “Psychedelic Nights” series, where experimental music and live visuals merge into an immersive audiovisual experience. Inspired by the writings of Jalal al-Din Rumi, the performance explores themes of self-awareness, collective energy, and emotional catharsis. With no predefined structure, music and visuals evolve in real time, shaped by the space and the audience, making each moment unique and unrepeatable. The night consists of two 45-minute sets, with the audience seated around the performers on stage, creating an intimate setting that dissolves the boundaries between artist and listener.
