We are back: After our last concert at Jesuit Cultural centre in 2021, this time we will play for you our new album BAZAAR BIZARRE فلسطين وين أنا؟ with two excellent musician friends originally from Alexandria: Ayman Mabrouk & Samo Eltaweal. JAMILA & THE OTHER HEROES is a Berlin based band ‘from manywhere’ creating Psychedelic Desert Rock with a political message. Leading the band is the vibrant Jamila Al-Yousef who named the band after her Palestinian grandmother. Born in Berlin on the day the Berlin wall came down and raised by her influential Palestinian father and East German mother, Jamila was basically drinking the revolutionary energy with her mother‘s milk. Thus, Jamila & The Other Heroes’ new album “Bazaar Bizarre فلسطين وين أنا؟” features powerful messages in Arabic and English of self-empowerment, liberation and the private as well as political fight against any forms of discrimination such as racism and sexism. These are the core values of Jamila & The Other Heroes’ music. Through their dancable music, the band encourages listeners to celebrate their differences and work together to create a world of justice & equal rights for all.
