About Event:

“Screening of Youth Films for the Projects …Beyond Borders & Camera Chica”

We are pleased to invite you to attend the screening of films from the Camera Chica and Beyond Borders projects, where we will showcase a collection of films entirely created by the young participants of these two initiatives.

About the Beyond Borders Project:

This is an international project aimed at producing participatory films by young people from Egypt, Nepal, and Scotland. The project seeks to help them discover themselves, their environments, and different cultures, and express these discoveries through filmmaking. The project was designed by professional filmmakers from the participating countries, including:

  • From the United Kingdom: Ben Woodiwiss
  • From Scotland: Yasmin Al-Hadithi
  • From Nepal: Prasuna Dongol
  • From Egypt: Mario Mohareb

The project is a collaboration between:

  • The Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria
  • Into Film Foundation in the United Kingdom
  • KIMFF (Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival) in Nepal

With support from the British Council.

About the Camera Chica Project:

This is the second Egyptian edition of the international project named Cámara Chica, which aims to empower young people to tell their stories through visual means. The project was redesigned by Mario Mohareb – the project director – and involved a group of young filmmakers and facilitators who were trained during the various stages of the project.

The Camera Chica project is supported by the British Council.
